Instead of a handshake, a kiss or a hug, a friendly wave or elbow bump is less likely to expose you to respiratory viruses. Frequently wash your hands with soap and water, or use hand sanitizer. Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your arm, not your hand. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces, such as toys and doorknobs. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth unless you have just washed your hands. President Donald  Trump announced new federal actions  Friday in efforts to slow the spread of the new coronavirus and relieve the economic effects of the pandemic. Meanwhile, Tax Day has been moved back to July and  U.S. students won't have to take annual state tests this year . California, New York, Illinois and Pennsylvania also took bold action to slow the spread of coronavirus. As COVID-19 continues to dramatically alter lives, the U.S. hit two grim landmarks on Friday — at least 221 deaths and over 17,300 confirmed cases. Worldwide, the death toll has topped 11,200, as Italy saw its biggest one-day increase Friday. The RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and Environment) reports that, since the last update, another 534 people in the Netherlands have tested positive for COVID-19, the illness that is caused by the new coronavirus. This means that the new total of infected people is 2994. Of this number, 725 work in the health sector- where tests are carried out more often. Coronavirus situation in the Netherlands Of the 2994 people infected, another 30 have died since yesterday, March 19, bringing the death toll to 106. The deceased were between 63  and 95 years old. In total, 643 patients are or have been admitted to  hospital . North Brabant has the highest number of coronavirus infections, namely 1012 positive tests. South Holland has the second-highest number of positive tests (405), followed by Limburg (366).
